LOTS OF THANKS FOR LOTS .. AND ALL THAT

A spreadsheet drawn up last year to show the ways in which money might be raised for Project TeePee had a figure of £2,000 penciled in as a possible sum from an aucti on of promises.  Recently those close to the plans dared to hope that the auction might raise as much as £4,000.  In the event, on the night, after adding money from raffle tickets (£250), bar profits (£180) and some extremely generous donations, the total raised from this event came to the WONDERFUL figure of OVER £6,500.

THANK YOU everybody who contributed those 61 fabulous lots for auction.

THANK YOU all those who packed the hall, drank the wine, ate the ploughman’s supper, entered into the spirit of the occasion, made generous bids, and created such a fabulous atmosphere.  THANK YOU to those who could not be there but still made written bids. THANKS to all the local businesses which provided sponsorship or help in many forms.  Much gratitude needs to go also to those who ran the show, who provided the catering, devised the brilliant and amusing PowerPoint version of the catalogue, took the cash, worked the credit-card terminal, decorated the hall, cleared up, did the washing up… and anybody whom I have forgotten.

The money raised from this auction has given a major boost to the fundraising for the fully accessible toilet in church and the new “tea and coffee station”.  We have now raised around two thirds of the £65,000 or so that is likely to be needed.  The complicated process of obtaining necessary planning approvals is almost complete and so the next step, the obtaining of detailed quotes, is being pursued and more grants are being sought.

A belated, but no less heartfelt Thank You for all the delicious cakes and help with the Church Teas at Box Revels.
